Did you know the Queen City was once home to King Records Cincinnati - one of the most influential record labels? Or that The Twist (Later made famous by Chubby Checker) was first recorded here? Some of James Brown's most significant recordings were also recorded at the King Records studios!

We recently had the pleasure of a visit to the Moerlein Lager House in downtown Cincinnati. The Moerlein Lager House is situated on a scenic bank along the Ohio River between the Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium. This spacious restaurant features great views of the Ohio River, sports stadiums, the Roebling Suspension Bridge and downtown Cincinnati. It’s a great view from any seat in the house!

I can’t think of a better way to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening that a slow cruise up the Ohio River with BB Riverboats. The cool breeze will calm even the worst heat and provides a perfect backdrop to any setting. The crew at BB Riverboats has mastered the art of entertaining on the river!

Since its 2012 inception, the Jazz Night Series at Washington Platform Saloon & Restaurant in downtown Cincinnati has been a must-do for music lovers of all ages, offering a unique live experience unlike any other in the Queen City. I recently attended the Friday night show with my husband, enjoying a delicious Valentine's Day dinner package and romantic date night against a colorful backdrop of authentic live jazz, performed by guitarist Greg Shako and flutist Sandy Suskind.

Porkopolis, one of Cincinnati’s most infamous nicknames, dates back to the late 1820’s through the mid 1930’s when the city was the main processing center for pork in the U.S.

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in downtown Cincinnati is a museum of conscience, an education center, a convener of dialogue and a beacon of light for inclusive freedom around the globe.

Dedicated in 1871, the Tyler Davidson Fountain is the centerpiece of Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. The statue is also known as the "Genius of Water," which pays homage to the Ohio River and its significance to the development of the entire city.

Held each year on Memorial Day weekend, the Taste of Cincinnati food festival began in 1979 as a one-day festival in Piatt Park, which was known as Garfield Park at the time, drawing just 5,000 visitors.

Spring in Cincinnati is always made a bit more divine – at least from a culinary perspective – thanks to the Washington Platform Oyster Festival. The event takes place at the iconic Washington Platform Saloon & Restaurant in Downtown Cincinnati, serving up a wide variety of seafood and oyster-based dishes, including a 40-item fresh oyster menu.
