This beloved Newport riverfront restaurant has an upscale atmosphere in addition to spectacular views of the Cincinnati skyline and Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, making it one of the finest seafood destinations in the tristate area. Located near all of the Queen City’s main attractions, Chart House is the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal before an evening out on the town.
We started off with the Mediterranean Hummus Tasting (640 cal), which featured a plate of avocado, roasted red pepper, Kalamata, grilled pita and plantain chips, along with a pomegranate martini and mango mojito at the bar for Happy Hour. Everything was incredibly delicious and very refreshing after a day out sightseeing around downtown Cincinnati, Newport and Covington, Kentucky.

When we moved to our table in the main dining room, we were delighted to discover that virtually every seat in the house has a spectacular view of the downtown and the Ohio River. Here, we enjoyed a fresh seasonal salad with arugula, roasted rainbow carrots, squash, beets, fennel, spiced pecans and a blood orange vinaigrette, topped with velvety honey orange ricotta; as well as a basic Caesar, an order of fresh gazpacho and a generous serving of creamy lobster bisque for starters. Every dish offered up bold, complex flavors and a satisfying finish guaranteed to please even the most sophisticated palate and left us excited for the feast to come!
For our two main courses, we went all out with the Alaskan King Crab, served with drawn butter and a side of vegetable orzo, along with the Shrimp and Scallop Patagonia, which featured a knockout presentation with avocado chimichurri puree, a crispy masa cake and heirloom tomato salad.
Regardless of what you select, the entire Chart House menu is brimming with endless possibilities for seafood lovers, along with a variety of other delcious options, including steak, prime rib, chicken and salmon. Everything on the menu is fresh and expertly prepared, making this the ideal dining destination for date night, a special occasion or just because!
